__Chapter 5 : Nightmare into the light.

Mail from Hoffman to Mataki , 1 day after 16 A.E.
I saw a guy, a scientist, last day. I thought Locust had killed theme all but it seam this one survived. This guy came in our base 1 day after the death of the Queen. He seamed more happy than any one here that Locust were all dead. Can you pleas take an eye on him, Mataki? I don't know why, but I really don't like him. There is something inhuman in his eye.

It was a beautiful day. The sun was in the sky and the park was only for the four kids. Ben , Clayton, Anthony and Madison were swinging on the swings quietly.  Ben and Anthony stopped suddenly, looking at the ground. Madison stopped too, wondering what was wrong with his two lil brothers. He ask to his two brother what was wrong.

"… You have bean able to save many live, even the life of a monster. But you didn't saved us from those monsters, isn't?" both said.

The ground began to shake and a whole rise for the earth under Ben and Anthony. Locust emerges from it and tacked the two young brothers. Madison try to grab him, but he fell with them. It lands on the ground suddenly, this time in his armour and adulthood. Locust drone did eruptions. In the distance he heard the voices of his brothers was screaming for help. He did not know where they were. The drones grabbed and tried to hit him. Madison struggles his best then he saw Devek. The soldier shouted for help but the Locust do not spanked. Then the other Locust surrounded him more and more, until he saw the black.

Madison woke up on the heavy ground. He sat up and looked at his watch. "Damn..." he murmured. He remembered the date of yesterday. By cons, his watch indicated two days more. He had been sleeping and hanging two damn days...
Hey, where were Devek and Metkok?

The C.O.G look behind him and didn't have fund any trace of his two companion. The Locust would not have left the human like that. Well that was what he hopped. He scream. Luckily, someone has to answer. The beast of his friend raced toward him. Metkok stopped at Carmine shouting little cries of distress. He seemed totally disoriented. The soldier grabbed the reins of the beast for the meters, then reassured him he stroked the muzzle "Whats wrong, Where is your master? "Asked Carmine. The animal bit him a fold of his shirt and pulled him. He wanted to show him something.

Carmine sit on the beast's back, knowing something want wrong to Devek because he knew that the beast Rider would never let his Bloodmount in this condition.

The beast took him along a path of rocks near a river. Along the way, the soldier was trying to remember what had happened. His memory caught up quickly. He remembered being sat behind The Locust. They were riding the Bloodmount. He also remembered hearing a horrible noise. Then, seeing a kind of blue shock wave that makes him fall down. He remembered having rolled on the ground and his head had struck something hard.

Runoff brought him back to the present. He discovered in the river off a small mound of rock. Metkok crossed the path of water and then went behind the pile of rocks. What he saw shock him: A Locust was lying on the ground, inert. He had brass knuckles in each hand. It was Devek. Carmine come near the Locust.  He said his name. No answer.

He shook his shoulder. Nothing.
He tried again by calling his name. Nothing. No. It couldn't be real.

« O… Okay Devek… It's a good joke. Now pl… Please… Just wake up. Come on…» Said Madison. The Locust still didn't move. « You… There is your wife and your daughter that is waiting after you. You can't just leave theme! NOW PLEAS WAKE UP!»  

It couldn't be real. He couldn't leave him like that. He had still many stuff to learn about the locust, he wanted so much that Clay meat the rider, he wanted to see locust race and make him taste bacon. No, he could just not. Madison feel an horrible pain in his stomach.

He screams the rider's name again and again, hopping a miracle.

He put his head on the Locust's chest for cries in silent. Then, he heard a sound. Something was making beats. A Heartbeat.

« He is alive…» murmured Carmine.  Metkok scream of joy. Carmine tried to sit down the unconscious Locust on the back of his beast. But he was not in balance. So the COG used his wait to hang Devek to the wheel of the saddle.

« Listen… your master is alive. But he is weak. I don't know why I'm asking this to you… But if you know a place were we could rest, it would be good if you could show it to me.»

The beast purring. Carmine decided to walk close from the beast in case a Lambent would come. Even if it doesn't seam that anything will happen. The tunnel was calm. Too calm. It seamed that any life here have bean… Killed. Carmine was still thinking about the shock wave. Will it be that shock that put his friend in this stat? Does it's the human who did that? Carmine was confused. Something was happening on the surface. The C.O.G had to go to the surface. But first he needed to find a safe place for Devek.

He still feel the pain in is stomach. It was strange: it was the same pain he had felt when he learned for his brothers. Strangely, he and the Locust had become close. They did not share some point of view, but in general, both race were not so different. Locusts were rude, but they have no choice of being like that with the environment in which they live. Each other had learn to live with the other and they became good friend. No, not friends but brothers.
Suddenly, Mekok growl. The beast looked at Carmine. He wanted the soldier sit on his back.

He ran on a stone path. In the distance a strange crack of light appeared. The more he came close to the beam, more the light became dense. Madison quickly realized: It was a way out. Carmine was happy when he saw the great plan in the mountain and smell the fresh air. He finally go out of the tunnel, but he still had to take care of Devek. The Bloodmouth cried hard and then another scream response to him. It was another Locust.

Carmine felt soddenly an horrible pain. He looked at his bandage were a wound that have was caused by a projectile launched by a Lambent when he was in the Hotel. His wound was seriously affected during these two days. But the worst was the other Locust. How would you they reacted when they will see him? He had already seen the Locust fire on their fellow men when they were used as a shield for human. Why they would not do the same thing to Devek and Madison?

Blood flowed from the mouth of Devek. He was weak. Carmine had to do something. Metkok could not protect his master of Lambent if the soldier left theme. The Bloodmount looked ate him, waiting. « Go the most fast as you can, show me why we call you the fastest Bloodmount!» say Madison. Then Metkok ran.

Akvolt was looking the view behind the large window of the improvised castle with his green yellow eyes. This castle have bean made in the wal of a solid mountain, but there could be always something that go wrong. A Theron guard inform him that they herd the scream of a Bloodmount that needed help. As a good Kantus leader, he was waiting the come of this one for help him. But there was something in the air that annoy him: the smell of a human.

A beautiful female locust that was more looking like a human than a Berserker and has the nose of a human came close for cuddle him. He purred to the Locust princess and kissed her. She looked at the Kantus Leader with her beautiful yellow eye and ask:

" Still nothing my love?"

" No… my dear Lacouna."

"… Hep… what is … By the gods."

The princess Locust couldn't believe her eye: there was a human that was ridding a Bloodmount and seamed to hold a Beast rider.

the pain of Madison's wound was more unsupportable. But he had to hold up. Four Theron guard where in front of the door of the Locust base. They seamed confused but they pointed their weapon at Madison.

He landed Devek and put his arm over his shoulder for the train. His heart beat a pounding. He began to advance slowly. The guard in front of him seemed extremely surprised to see a man helped them similar.
Metkok walked beside him. The C.O.G felt his injury grow.
Then a armored kantus mage is landing from nowhere in front of him. He had a different armor than other armored Kantus and there was paper with religious word on it. It was maybe a leader.

The Kantus growled a little and then gave him a look to know chilling with is green yellow eyes. Madison breathed nervously but manage to speak in the language Locust. « I… I'm not here to figh. I only want to help this Locust… I beg of you, just help him… » When he said " help this Locust", the expression on the face of the Kantus changed. He seamed confused. Maybe he didn't trust him. He put his lancer slowly in front of the Kantus and continued: « See? I don't want to fight you… Now pleas great mage, help him… ». The kantus looked at the human.

He stay silent and finally growled orders to the Locust guard. They lowed their weapon and came for transport the beast rider. Metkok purred at Madison. The human slowly stroked the head of the Bloodmount. « Take care of your master». Say Carmine. By exceeding expectations, Devek spoke. «… Ma…dison?» he murmured.

Carmine looked at him and say:« you would be okay… You will find your wife and your daughter , dont worry for me. I... Good luck… Brother.»

It was the last word he say. He felt the pain, and fall hardly on the ground.
